PUPPET WORKSHOPS FOR CHILDREN

MAKE-IT AND TAKE-IT HAND PUPPETS FOR LOWER GRADES

DSC01527-1.JPG

Every child will be thrilled with his or her very own hand puppet. These twelve inch puppets can be the springboard into having the children build their own puppet show. Each participant will be supplied with a kit (cost of kits: $1.00 each) of materials. We ask that the participants bring with them a pair of scissors and one clean knee-hi stocking (or one leg of a panty hose). These need not be new. The size of the group can be up to one hundred children. We ask that you provide one adult for every five children. This is an excellent school workshop, as well as an wonderful family night activity.

MAKE-IT AND TAKE-IT ANIMAL MARIONETTES FOR LOWER GRADES

Many people think that second and third graders are too young for marionettes. However, a simple two-string dog or cat marionette is just the thing to introduce young children to the joy of string puppets. Each child is provided a kit of materials (cost of the kit is $1.00). We ask that each child bring a pair of scissors. The size of the group is limited to thirty. We ask that you provide one adult for each five children. The time allotment is two and a half hours.

Each child is provided with a kit of materials (cost of the kit: $1.00 each). We ask that each child bring a pair of scissors. The time allotment is two to two and a half hours. We ask that you provide one adult for every five children.

MAKE-IT AND TAKE-IT ROD PUPPETS FOR UPPER GRADES

Larger children need larger and more elaborate projects. The students will complete life-sized rod puppets with which they can really stretch creativity. These puppets are excellent for extending the language arts curriculum. Group size should preferably be kept under thirty, but we will work with what you have. The adult leader would be a helpful asset in larger classes. Each child will be charged a materials fee of $5.00 and should come with a pair of scissors.

MAKE-IT-AND-TAKE-IT MARTIAN ROD PUPPETS

All Right exclamation.jpg

What child wouldn't like to make his or her very own martian puppet? Let your children's imagination run wild! Bring only yourselves to this fun hour and a half workshop; all materials (material fee: $1.00 per participant) will be provided. We ask for one adult volunteer for every five children. This is a perfect school project as well as a whole family activity. Second grade and up.
